Green Clean/Environmentally Friendly

Dry ice is formed from recaptured emissions. No water to reclaim, no solvents or chemicals involved, no heat, and no secondary waste. Eliminates water use that contributes to mold/bacteria growth.

Cleans Faster and Better

Achieves superior clean, faster, often without disassembly. Cleans hard-to-reach areas, provides clean, dry surface for recoating. Aggressive enough for difficult surfaces, sensitive for delicate equipment.

Reduces Downtime

Allows for equipment to be cleaned in-place. More thorough and scheduled cleaning reduces likelihood of unexpected breakdowns and lost production time.

Reduces Waste Disposal

Dry ice pellets sublimate (evaporate) on contact, so the only clean up required is of the removed debris itself.

Reduces Risk and Liability

Eliminates the expense and hazards of chemical cleaning, while avoiding costly environmental clean-up requirements.

Reduces Costs

Reduces clean-up labour costs, production equipment downtime, and waste disposal costs. No dry time or cool down time required. Extends equipment life by not abrading, wearing, pitting, or eroding surfaces.

How Dry Ice Cleaning Works

Understanding Dry Ice Cleaning

Dry ice cleaning utilizes the unique properties of dry ice pellets to effectively clean surfaces without causing damage. The process involves several key effects that work together to remove contaminants.

Impact of Pellets: The impact of dry ice pellets creates a Kinetic Energy Effect. The soft dry ice is accelerated by compressed air through specially designed nozzles at supersonic speeds.

Thermal Effect: The cold temperature of dry ice pellets (-109°F/-78.5°C) causes contaminants to embrittle, helping to break the bond between the substrate and the contaminant.

Expansion of Pellets: Upon impact, dry ice pellets sublimate and expand in size, effectively removing the contaminant.

Because dry ice is non-abrasive and turns back into gas, you are left with a clean surface, no secondary waste, and no damage to your equipment.
